Why it is important for us to Leave A Legacy for God

Christy:  The most important thing to know about me is that God isn’t finished with me yet!  Every day is an opportunity for me to learn more and grow as a Christian and as a human being.  I’ve had 36 trips around the sun and will start my 37th in September.  I love being around people and I like everyone to be happy and smiling with me!   In the song, Legacy by Nichole Nordeman, she sings about pointing to God enough to make a mark on things and being a child of mercy and grace who blessed His name unapologetically and leaving the type of legacy that is an offering to the world. It’s much easier said than done.  I think that the biggest challenge for me is letting my guard down and letting go of the control over myself to let God take control and use me in the way that He has planned for me.  Our Brazil mission trips –  July of 2004, July of 2007 and July of 2008 taught me so much about what’s really important and how awesome it is to be used by God and be able to watch some of His plans revealed to my human eyes.  I am so thankful for the amazing experiences He allowed me and Patrick to have there.  I look forward to the journey and pray that I glorify God everyday and “point to Him enough to make a mark on things”…

Patrick:  As Forrest Gump would say, “I’m not a smart man.”  The more I live and the more I see in this crazy, confused world, the more I realize that I’m just a speck of matter in a very large universe (and that’s probably giving myself too much credit) that needs my Lord, my Savior Jesus Christ to help me live and survive in this life.  Believe me, this is not easy. The worldly, prideful part of me wants to rely solely on myself but after travelling that road for most of my life I finally realized that I couldn’t do it.  I was in financial bondage, unhappy with my job and very discontented with my life.  Christy was my only source of happiness.  That’s when I realized that my Heavenly Father had been waiting patiently for me for so many years.  I had gotten so caught up in this world and all of it’s “fun” that I had forgotten about Him.  So I finally allowed myself to get still enough to hear Him calling me home.  That was five years and many blessings ago.  He has delivered us from the worldly and financial bondage that we were under, and has loved us enough to call us to be a part of the Gospel for Brazil Missionary Ministry that we have had the honor of being a part of three times (fourth upcoming).  This is what brings me, us to this place in our lives.  We want to glorify Him by living completely for Him and building a Godly legacy for Him that will bring many lost souls in Brazil and here in the U.S.  to salvation through Jesus Christ before we head home one day.  We don’t yet know what Legacy God will build through us but we can’t wait to take this ride with Him.  We struggle everyday with our “humaness”, and we don’t have it all figured out but that really isn’t that important.  We are trusting Him to guide and direct us on this journey to “Leave a Legacy.”  Will you join us?  What will your Legacy be?  We would love to know how Christ is working and using you in your life.

Thank you Miranda. We love you too and hope this will be a site that everyone can come to and discuss Christ and give inspirational testimonies about how God is working in their lives. And if people accept the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ because of this site, then that’s the true blessing.
